Learning to draw, so it is said, is learning to see. But
looking too closely at the details too often can get you in trouble!
Or studying clouds.....
Or even like the first picture. i followed Puppers on her leash, across the mud gash - it was a still river that day! - and got gunky shoes for my trouble.
Almost ended up in the mud gash, though even if i had, that would've been minor compared to gawking at the mountains or clouds!
The observation DOES pay off, but it is an investment.
An investment in time and effort that many might think could be better spent otherwise.
