The New Testament "Picture Book"

Lyrics from ApolegetiX, Keep Your Arms Steady
Parody of "Detroit Rock City" by Kiss
  What is going on here?
Watching the battle, and the position of Moses' arms seem to determine how the battle goes?
This story is hardly ever mentioned in Bible teaching.  Yes, we hear about the battle where Joshua asked for more time and the sun stood still - miracles!  Exciting!
And we hear about the water from the rock, earlier in Exodus 17.  God's provision - wonderful!  But what can you do with this?  We know about arms getting tired, but, really?  Those arms influencing something like a battle?
A Look at Who Moses Was: Leader and Intercessor
Throughout Exodus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, we see Moses leading Israel.
Another important job he did was pray for them.  Intercessor, intercede for them with God
  Exodus 21:7
  Exodus 32, esp.  verses 11-13
 Numbers 11:2
Another Leader and Intercessor: Paul
Paul starts and ends most, if not all, his New Testament  letters with reference to his praying for the recipients.   He prayed endlessly for the people he led.  He instructed them to pray endlessly.
In Ephesians 6, he talks about the Christian life as a battle requiring armor. He explains the armor and what it does for the Christian.
  Connecting
A battle in Exodus.  A battle in Ephesians.
In other places, too, Paul talks about the battle with unseen powers of evil.
Pray always.  Pray for each other.  I pray for you.  You pray for me.
Support the leaders and prayer warriors with your own prayers.

Support the leaders and prayer warriors with your own prayers.
The Old Testament gives the illustration.  The Ne Testament gives its instruction.

The parody band ApologetiX has a song about this. Check it out:
