Wordless Wednesday: Cute Kid, Cute Toy, then. . .

 

Christmas, about 2nd grade, and on a vacation, possibly at age 3

Then, years later. . . 

In 1996, we threw both toys away.  "Lady" wasn't in such bad condition as "Monkey Bear," but both had very much "had it."

Monkey Bear was new in the first picture. A bit of research seems to indicate that he was one of the Zippy / Mr. Bim toys popular in the 1950s. Which makes me wonder if that orange and white "Lady" was also an imitation of a licensed product.
