Getting Max's Diagnosis: Part 2

After the hearing test results came back, i wasn't sure where to turn.  A friend with an autistic son gave several suggestions, and i ultimately asked the psychologist with our local school system to evaluate him.
She wanted to observe him in a formal setting, which was a problem.  There really was only one, a Bible study class with an international parachurch organization which has strict guidelines.
  Outsiders were forbidden.
However, in the true spirit of love, the children's director told me she "had a heart for this child," and allowed the psychologist to come in.
She knew after one session that Max had autism.  This was before First Steps, and it was the end of the school year, so the best she could do for me us was to set an appointment after school started for an indepth assessment, and promise a spot in preschool after his third birthday.
