Words on Not Quite on Wednesday: from a memoir to a book i'd never seen to a movie i'd loved

One of the movies MyGuy and i saw when it first came out was The Princess Bride.
i think
we both had fun, but maybe MyGuy enjoyed it more than i did.
Eventually we found William Goldman's book  & MyGuy read it too.  i couldn't finish the first chapter.  The frame story was far more depressing than the one in the movie.
But after i picked up Cary Elwes' recent memoir, i wanted to try the Goldman again.  This time, like with Steinbeck's East of Eden, i found that skipping the first chapter worked better.*       ***

Books:2, Movies: 0 (This Time Around)

At least, recently.  MyGuy and i dug out the BluRay.
  And loved it again.

After the Movie Again

But the thing is, we're not the same people now.  We're not so cute and fit as we were even ten years ago.  We've been through more.  We've failed each other more, experienced more pain and imperfection.  This past year has been rather difficult, not only in external circumstances but also in relating to each other.
But we're still trying to learn to talk to each other & still WANT to figure out that puzzle.  It is so much more than worth it.

*The first 50 pages of the EoE edition i had were description of a landscape i'd never seen.  Then the story began.  After the story ended and i sighed, "More please," the description was lovely.
