Team Meeting, March 2019

Last week we had Max's quarterly meeting.  Things seem to be going well with the services.  Our
behavior management person is on top of things, and making progress with him.  i'm seeing some of that - we don't always have to prompt him to "Take a deep breath" to calm himself.
Music therapy is great.  He enjoys it, and the therapist is sort of doing what i wanted from speech therapy: helping him, again, control his breath and volume.  And the she's are actually teaching him the rudiments of music-making, instruments and singing and notes.
The best thing we've got going on for Max is the CHIO services.

On the designated day, his CHIO staffer meets him, either at home or the gym or whereever we've arranged, and takes him out on his own.  We've had several different CHIO individuals, and right now the one we have is one of the best.
Actually, i think his getting on so well with her has to do with two things:  1] LUNCH, 2] Before his first outing, i assured him this is a SAFE person to go with.
If anything is a "missing piece," it would be prevoactional services:
  • Showing Up
  • Following Job Instructions
  • Finishing the Assigned Job
  • Initiative to Figure Out Problems
  • Workplace Safety
We're  on a piece to help with that, the sheltered workshop.  Actually, we initiated the contact last fall.  Now we've got the funding, and things, i thought, were ready to go.  But there's some question about how much one-on-one he'll need.
i think we can resolve this.
