Saturday Sisters - 3 Quick Notes about My Intended Audience

  1. First of all, i am writing to women who think of themselves as Christians  It is a means of encouragement and challenge, because both Old and New Testaments are clear that thinking of yourself as one of God's people is not the same as being one.
  2. Men who think of themselves as Christians.  i've noticed that women will often try to learn from the lives of Biblical men, but men often skip over the biographies of Biblical women, as if there is nothing there for them.  But, as Veggie Tales' Petunia says, everyone can learn from a good Princess story.
  3. Anyone, whether you apply The Name to yourself or not, is welcome.
These little meditations are not intended to be evangelistic.  i wouldn't know where to begin, having grown up in the household of faith.
But i have learned to get comfortable with questions.
i nearly lost my faith in a Christian college classroom, and again, a couple years ago, in examining why people might believe Jesus is not who He claimed.
While i didn't end up exactly where i started, it's close enough, yet far enough to raise eyebrows.
Listen to God, whereever you hear Him.  If something is true, it's His truth.
