Periodically i'll change some of the formatting. Here is the setup as of tonight; i don't expect to remove anything, though i do occasionally move stuff.
And this post is really LONG. But i've put the most requested parts toward the top, easier for you to find..
Really, everything you're looking for should be here. If you're
not seeing three columns under a photo, you probably have your device set to a simplified view. i think it's called Mobile. You should be able to turn this off, though it will crowd your display. However, you can stretch parts of the page to see them better.
The Stuff at the Bottom of the Page
The Cross Column: Most of the stuff people ask for is at the very bottom of the page. i know that's a long way down, but it is there. Under the list of Labels is the Daily Bible Verse. The verse is provided by a service, and there's nothing you can do with it that you can't do with a Bible verse anywhere else. However, the Labels are clickable. If you want to see all my posts labeled dog, for example, find dog in the list & click. You should get a fresh page, this one showing clips of all my dog posts. Well, the newest seven anyway - you need to ask for more ("Older Posts") to scroll through all of them. The Three Separate Columns: Under the verse are the meat of it. As in the post part, it's in three columns.
Left
is Blog Archive, a summary of what i posted when.
On the right
is my info about keeping up with me.
First are thumbnails of my Followers. Under the thumbnails is a clickable box, "Follow," so you can become a Folower of this blog too. Not sure what this does, but i'm told i need it there. Below are two other ways to follow me: you can type your email in the first box and get my new posts in your Inbox. No, i never even see your address. i subscribe to other blogs that way and enjoy it.
Below that is Subscribe Now feed icon. This will automatically update you too, and no, i don't know how, though i do know it did it back when.
The center column,
under the posts, has ways to search the site: a direction to the Labels, and a box to type your search term.
Under that is my email address. You will have to deconstruct the way i put it in, but that's not hard for a human. If it's beyond you, just about any of your computer using friends should be able to explain. This is a way i keep my email available but not machine-readable.
Then there's a Translate button. You can type the language you want in there.
At the very bottom, is where i credit my blog trainer and, in a general way, my sources.
Back to the top of the page,
the Left columncontains my Greeting to you, and if you skip it, you haven't missed much, followed by my
Creative Commons License info. It tells you how i'd like you to share my stuff - and yes, please,, scatter it all over the web, and lead people here. You will also find info about
Contributors to this blog, and info about the number of
Pageviews here since i began blogging in 2011.
In the Middle
of the main part of the page are my actual posts. Currently i have it set to show the most recent seven posts, or snippets of them. i'm thinking i should change this to show fewer posts, since this is where the page gets long.
Under each post you will find which of us posted, when we posted, some buttons for sharing, Labels we applied to this specific one, link to any comments that have been made, and another Share button, this one for emailing it. You can also leave your own comment from the comments button, though i'm picky about which ones i accept. See my email address, and my page about joining the conversation.
On the Right column,
a Featured Post leads the stack. Under it are some links to Blogs i follow and recommend to you.
These will change periodically. i like to change the Featured Post every month or so, and i should revise the blog list more often, since there's some i should replace with ones that are still updating regularly. Also i've found in the past that some blogs aren't updating because the blogger has subscribed to a service that makes distribution easier. Those i want to know about, though reloading them means i will receive regular emails telling me about other blogs which i usually don't have time to check.
The last item before the lower cross column is, at present,
a Badge for another blog. Like my featured blogs, you can click there and go to that website. i like having it handy, so i can check out what they are doing, but i'm not sure if this is the best way. Or if i want to add other sites' badges.
i seem to be explaining backwards. The most usable, interactive stuff IS at the bottom of the page. Anyway,
at the top
is my header pic, announcing where you are. If you have a chance to get one of my contact cards, it has the same photo. i don't anticipate changing it, though i've thought about using the little boys in the dirt one instead. The cross column words below the pic and before the main part of my blog are links to my
Pages.
These are regular content that i seldom change, whereas each post is new and separate. In the Pages you will find info about me and what i'm doing. Sometimes a page needs to be updated, and i'm not as good at keeping up as i should be.
i think this covers everything. Hope it helps.
