Not Quite Wordless Wednesday: A Thing of Beauty

Those of you who live in my township & drive regularly past our house (and it seems like EVERYONE in the township does that!) will have noticed the state of our roof.  The garage roof still needs to wait until we get the prep work finished, but we did have the house roof redone.
The crew declared our scheduled day "a perfect day for roofing."  Apparently they can't always fit jobs in the schedule so soon, but this was a great time, the day before the Big Rain.
And no more leaks!  It looks even better than the original roof.

First Part of the Job: protecting the windows

Definitely in need

This is the back room, aka the cat room.  It was added on in the first ten years or so of the house's life, when my relatives, actually very skilled workers,  geared down to "quick & dirty, just get it done."

Off With the Old

Here is where iwrote about the damage last winter.

Nearing the End: Afternoon of the Day the Job was Begun

i think this is wetproofing.  It has the company name on it.

Job Complete

Max and i tried to stay out the entire day - i would've liked to, but he seemed to find being at home with all the banging less stressful than staying out all day.

The sign was in good shape when they put it here.  This picture is after The Big Rain - actually, a violent storm.
