Living in a 5-Star Wilderness

That's how Michigan bills its Upper Peninsula. (and if someone will help me add their little R in a circle, i will.)
If you want wild, away from it all, this could be the place to go.
According to the Google map, Paradise, Michigan, where we stayed, is 9 hours, 11 minutes from Indianapolis.  MyGuy and i drove it in more like
12 hours, with an overnight stop going up and a very hard-driving forced march affair coming home.
The thing about a wilderness is, it's totally gorgeous.  And it's MILES from one Place to another.
Gorgeous wilderness has a magnificent sameness to it.
This is a little different.
i could tell you about the 1990s style internet connections, and how the streets roll up at 9pm, and you'd think i hated it.  But a truer story is in the 366 photos remaining undeleted, after deleting a hundred or so.  i have little difficulty seeing each of them as unique and indispensible to the tale of this trip.
No, it's not a place i'd like to make my home.  But i sure want to visit there again.
