REFLECTIONS AND CITIZENSHIP CELEBRATION
HIGHLIGHTS INDIANA STUDENTS' TALENTS

(Indianapolis, IN) Indiana PTA will host their annual Reflections and Citizenship Celebration Luncheon as part of the 101st Annual Indiana PTA Convention, on Saturday, May 4th, 2013, at the Indianapolis Marriott East, 7202 East 21st Street, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Over 150 outstanding pieces of student work will be on display for the community to view. Parents, students, and PTA members will also enjoy a celebration luncheon while the Indiana PTA presents participation medals and certificates to entrants.

The works, from children across the state, have been judged by their local PTAs, teachers, and principals for participation in the Reflections program. Each participant submitted their original creations in one of six categories including Literature, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography, Photography, Film and Video Production, and Visual Arts. Entries address this year's Reflections theme, "The Magic of a Moment."

In addition, essay submissions in the Indiana PTA Citizenship Essay Contest will be on display. Essays focus on the theme "How We Can Help People."

Award winners in all categories can be found at the links below:

Winning entries will be on display in the Vendor/Resource Area before and after the luncheon.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and support our talented local artists. Debbie Fox, Indiana PTA  Reflections Coordinator, feels the celebration luncheon is very important, serving as a culmination of each student's hard work. "Our Indiana students possess incredible talent," Fox said. "I am looking forward to meeting and celebrating their achievements at our celebration luncheon." Winners of the state competition will be advanced to the 43rd Annual National PTA Reflections Program. Indiana PTA had two national award winners last year.

The Reflections Program was established in 1969 by National PTA board member Mary Lou Anderson. Since that time, more than 10 million students have participated in the program.
