A Fork and a Guy in War Paint and a Super'

This weekend i attended the Indiana PTA state convention.
There was so much worthwhile, and fun, going on.
"Lady Gaga" came to promote PTA.
The shirts say, "Real Men Join PTA".
A guy in war paint told us about the strengths and weaknesses of our personality types.
Our State Superintendent  Tony Bennett joined us for more than a couple of minutes, introducing the Parent Pledge Initiative.  Our state PTA President Barry Jones and Tarik Glenn signed large copies before us all.

i couldn't begin to list all the help i got uniquely suited to me and our unit.
Here, however, i want to spotlight a brief film shown Saturday night.  Take a look.

The Lunch Date

Perceptions

This is a fun little film, which won a prestigious award in 1990 in Cannes.  It's about our perceptions.
What do we see?
Watch the 10 -12 minute film before continuing!

The Woman

Dressed nicely, with furs, jewelry, shopping bags, why should she have trouble paying for lunch?  Is she in the first stages of bagladyhood, or does she just carry the minimum of cash and shop with cards?
What about her forgetfulness?
i know if she was my mom, i wouldn't be confining her yet, but i would be worried about incipient Alzheimer's, wanting her to shop with a companion, worrying if she took a trip like this alone.

The Man Who Helped Pick Up Her Things

What really happened when she dropped her purse?  Did the guy bump her?  Was it an accident?  Did he steal  her wallet?
Maybe she left it on a counter somewhere.
It looks like he did bump her, which is a standard pickpocket ploy, but that doesn't mean he did.

Diner Attendant

Yeah, why should she have trouble paying?  And should he have said something when she went to the wrong table?  Maybe not; maybe he wasn't enjoying the scene too much.

Man Eating Salad

So, what did you think about him?
Mauricio Velasquez*, the speaker who showed the film, told of showing the film to a police department.  One of the cops wanted to arrest this man.
And was still convinced this was the correct action after the woman found her own salad.
So, when did you realize the lady was mistaken?

Mortification, and Laughter

Laughter helps us get over a lot.  i'd like to think she wanted to apologize to him.  He was gone; what else could she do?

Oh, and you have figured out about my fork, right?

*.Mauricio Velasquez is of http://www.diversitydtg.com/  At this time i am unable to load his website.
