introductions

Two of these people i have met personally; two i have not.

The Professional

Look Me in the Eye is John Elder Robison's blog about life with Asperger's syndrome.  He was diagnosed as an adult, having grown up in an age when the symptoms were considered bad attitude and achieved success despite that.  i "met" him through a friend's Facebook recommendation, and someday hope to read his books.

The Mom

Anne Higley, author of Two in Transition,is the mom of the title two kids on the autism spectrum.  i have met her in class at the Arc of Indiana.

Life on the Inside

Nursing homes are places none of us want to go, or have our family in.  The Arc introduced me Gregory Anderson's blog, Maximizing Independence .  This gentleman is intellectually advanced - his other blog is about space travel - but due to physical limitations and general life happenings, he is now living in a nursing home.  My friends at the Arc tell me it is one of the "good" ones.  i find it fascinating to see what goes on there.

College Life

Natalie is a college student whom i also "met" through the Arc.  She is a young adult with autism, and sometimes writes about her autism, as well as other aspects of being a college kid.
When i was downtown last Thursday, i met Lindsay.  While she is not a disability blogger per se, we found several things in common, including our blogging and our faith.  In this blog entry she shares about life with ADD.
